So I can't say that I'm sad to see them go, but like most people my age, Hostess Twinkies are a part of my childhood. Late Friday night, I drove for over an hour in search of spongy goodness.
Eureka!

12 stores later -
I was able to find 1 box of Zingers and my all-time favorite - Suzy Q's.
Prior to this, I couldn't tell you when I last had a Zingers or a Suzy Q. I'm guessing it's been at least 15 years.
Well in case you're wondering, I did not eat either one.
Like a good wifey, I packed the Suzy Q's in my husband's lunch and I have no intention on eating a Zingers. About a month ago I woke up fat, remember?
I'm Just Sayin'...(Damn!)

I LOVE Zingers! I used to love to eat the chocolate (way back when when I ate chocolate) off of the HoHos. I can't believe "Hostess" is gone!! WOW.

When I was younger I used to separate the Suzy Q's, kinda felt like I had more if I did it that way. LOL :D I read today that the cakes and bread recipes will probably be sold to the highest bidder. Long live the king.
DeleteOn a happy note, Congrats to you on your willpower! I love the Zingers! And the chocolate cupcakes....and the apple pies! The Zingers though, were always my favorite. Is that a THREE pack I see?
ReplyDeleteOn a sad note, we had a Hostess plant here in my city. It was devastating to see people lose their jobs right before the holidays.
Thanks - the Zingers box is open, but I haven't had any. The cupcakes were always tasty and I like to microwave the fruit pies - sugary goodness. It is very sad to see so many people lose their jobs and right before the holidays makes it absolutely worse. There wasn't a plant in my city, but 3 in the Chicagoland area over 1400 people out of work. It's horrible.
